An Even Newer Frozen Favorite...Eskimix

If you want a hot spot to get some cool frozen yogurt head to Eskimix in the West Village! It's an icy new frozen yogurt store that transplants you to an igloo in Alaska. Not only is the frozen yogurt absolutely delicious but a great alternative to ice cream or sweets. Going for a nice cup of froyo at Eskimix is a great experience in and of it self, but who wouldn't want to visit an igloo in the middle of Manhattan!
Shop It Like Its Hot

A Note From Jessie:
As a true shop-a-halic, I am always looking for the newest, best, or most incredible shopping websites online. I constantly find products and brands that I love, but usually have a difficult time keeping up-to-date on when items get newly released, or old ones go on sale. So the discovery of "Shop It To Me" is understandably a true gift from "the shopping gods." Shop It To Me is a website that keeps you up to date via e-mail on all brands and labels that you love, and exactly when they go on sale. The format is simple, you just log onto their website,shopittome.com, and sign up as a new user. You begin by completing a simple profile that covers your demographics, and what stores, brands, labels and lines you love. Then you provide your e-mail address for correspondence, and select how often you want to be notified of any deals and promotions; from monthly, weekly, bi-weekly, or even daily - clearly my option of choice. Then you just sit back and VOILA!...you are e-mailed with websites and pictures of all fabulous items that meet your criteria that have gone on sale. They even let you know sizing availability, shipping options, and stock stats. Its truly a shoppers dream...and I insist you take a free minute and check it out. Genius! - a true trailblazing website on the radar of shoppers alike!
Whole Foods -Tribecca- The Perfect Pick Up Spot!

I've often read that grocery stores, super markets and book stores are hot spots for meeting men or women. Last night, I was on the quest for milk in a glass bottle for an upcoming photo shoot. Brainstorm: take a leisurely walk to Tribeca to the new Whole Foods and get the milk in a glass bottle that is and buy food for breakfast all at about 9:52 p.m. Getting back to my point, not only is it swarming with hotties, it's clean and spacious. Those are two words I would not associate with food shopping in Manhattan. Ladies looking for love? Head to Whole Foods not to the bars in your six inch stilettos. Bonus, I even ran into a friend and her new baby there. See how social it is already?

EMc2-A Fashion Equation

I'm not sure about you but all I seem to be getting is sample sale emails and holiday shopping party emails and no actual Christmas Cards! I've fallen off everyones list except my shopping outlets. Or maybe nobody is sending cards this year due to the economic crisis that I am not aware of! But if you are in the market for a new frock or just want to say frock you to Emmett then head to his hip boutique this Thursday, Dec 18th and sip some champers. I might just do the same. But since I can't commit to anything let alone what I'm wearing today don't bet on it! Emmett McCarthy was on a season of Project Runway and is sticking around with his fun frocks, celebration chemises and cute coats all at 20% off. The champers in enough to lure me there, who needs the 20% discount! Did I mention DISCOUNT?

MOMA Madness

A Note From Jessie:
We all know that museums are amazing places to visit. From the history, to the collections, to the cafes, to the beautiful space; spending an afternoon paroozing through famous artistic collections is truly something no Manhattan'ista should be without. But most of us can't seem to find the time because museums notoriously close before the six o'clock hour...creating a great excuse for not going. But LOOKIE LOOKIE, the MOMA is changing the game. Starting this month, the Museum of Modern Art will be extending its hours one Monday per month until 8:30pm - mainly to accommodate procrastinators and busy-bees like you and me. Dates of their extended hours include December 8, January 12, February 9, March 9, April 6, May 4, and June 8. This is a really incredible opportunity to bite the bullet and check out all that the incredible space has to offer. And right now, a Van Gogh exhibit is creating all the rage. Don't' forget to about their student admission and senior citizen ticket deals. Check out more on their Monday evening programs by checking out MOMALateMondays.com, as well as other features and instillations currently at the museum by logging onto their site at Moma.org
Shock Color Therapy

So far, it looks pretty grey ouside and since I am not a weather forecaster likemichigirl I thought you could all use some bright light color therapy today! Sunlight deprivation can be serious! I suffer and may have to jet off to Tulum or the Nicoya Pennisula very soon with no notice! The studio door and the email door will read, "Gone Surfing." This image is from the Badgley Mischka Spring '09 Swimwear campagne shot by Alexander Wagner and styled by yours truly! Enjoy.

Roses are Red......
............Violets are Blue. These are the flowers that Kevin sent to me for our anniversary a few months ago.
William Wallace Denslow's illustrations for Roses are red, from a 1901 edition of Mother Goose. Roses are red, violets are blue, romance is dead and here's to the new . Try making your own Roses are read poem. It's really fun!
Adidas-The Original House Party

Have you been blown away by the Adidas Originals House Party commercial? I have from the first moment I saw it during the Thursday night triumvirate of Ugly Betty, Grey's and Private Practice and now can't stop watching it on YouTube. It's a mix of the coolest nobodies and somebodies like Missy Elliot, Becks, Russel Simmons and yes that's DMC emceeing. It's funny how these chose Frankie Valli's, "Beggin" as the song which is so catchy and not some chic new hip hop song or even classic rap. Estelle even makes a guest appearance.

The house party turns to the pool party. I love the flamingo detail on the right side.

A close up of the blow-toys in pool. Adidas originals even look good wet!

TempTEAing

A Note From Jessie:
Yesterday I met my friend Shannon Brennen-Cressy after work, and i was looking to try something new and exciting in terms of locale. So she suggested this incredible place on 30Th and Madison Avenue called Subtletea. Its more or less a tea shop, where they sell gorgeous pastries and baked goods, but specialize in hundreds of flavors of tea...with specialty dispositions and purposes. They have their teas categorized by level of caffeine, time of day normally consumed, and then by category of flavor. Some of their really incredible sounding recipes included "key lime pie," "almond cookies," "chocolate covered strawberry," and "vanilla creme." You can not only order just a cup to dine in, but purchase bags of it to go, so that you can enjoy the incredible experience at home.
To create ambiance to the space, they feature comfortable cushions and chairs to relax in and enjoy, and a long table just piled high with books and magazines to make the tea experience as indulgent as possible. It was a really great environment, and i totally recommend checking it out!
Their website is subtleteastore.com, and their address is
Subtletea - 121 Madison Avenue -(212) 481-4713
...one could say the place was "tea-tastic!"
Cloche Call
Cloches are one of the most happening at the head trends right now. It's funny that it's such a trend because hats like the cloche are so classic and one of the very classic shapes in millinery. I had a brief moment where I studied millinery at F.I.T in New York under the guise of Janine Guimard who worked with Cristobal Balenciaga himself! I learned that cloche means bell in french! We used a cloche to set up the Jones NEW YORK looks for these lovely teachers who won a contest, 4 luxe looks and to model in a fashion show in Macys!

Who is Victoria and what is her Secret??

The 2008 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show aired last night on CBS. We still don't know who Victoria is or what her secret is, but we do know that her angels rocked the runway last night. The show was as usual a spectacle of skin, sparkle and glamour! The angels included Vicky's alum Heidi Klum, Karolina Kurkova, Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Miranda Kerr, and new comer Doutzen Koroes. The theme seemed to be vintage Miami, old Hollywood and elegance, Usher performed but didn't add anything to the night. I think it's hard to follow JT's performance from a few years ago that lit up the cat walk and brought the house down. Though the Vicky's girls we know and love looked stunning, some of the other models just didn't fit the bill. One of the things I loved was the new image of elegance and chicness. The girls were a little more covered up and classic looking. If you didn't catch the show last night make sure you watch the video on line, because I don't think this over the top show will be around for much longer.
Trouble Tease

I met these guys this summer at an "Accidental Branding" seminar and fell in love with their trouble t's. These t-shirts are unique and designed by two cool dudes. Love the play on words too "TEASE instead of T's". Did I really have to spell that out for you? Wanna purchase? Check out troubletease.etsy.com

Flat White

No, it's not a paint color but a much loved beverage very hard to come by here in America, but very popular in Australia, New Zealand and England. It's kinda like a latte and kinda like a cappucino but less milky than a latte and less foamy and bubbly than a cappy. It's so delicious. Starbucks refers to them as a wet cappicino. I prefer "Flat White!" I can hear my friend Spencer ordering a "flat white" in his Aussie accent. Kingswood, an Aussie Eatery here in New York makes a decent one!
