Practice Mix and Match

If you choose to, dressing twin girls can be made easy and simple, most of all, fun! Instead of putting your children in matching ensembles, let them play mix and match. We’ve taken two totally different little girls bikinis and mixed the top from one and the bottom from another. The girls still look alike, but we’ve let them get creative by mixing the yellow polka dot top with anchor with the tri-color blocked pink, yellow and orange bottom. This is a trend started by female surfers: taking a top from one bikini and mixing it with the bottom of another for a more bohemian look. It was seen prominently in the female surf movie, Blue Crush. To make the look complete we’ve added another pattern with a polka dot flip flop and striped flip-flop. Get ready for the kiddies to Hang Ten!

Lookin' all 'G.'

Rock up in your late model convertible, get out and proclaim to your friend in her Robert Marc sunnies, "You're looking all G." The 'G.' would stand for Good! It's Cali slang on the streets on New York baby!

Scarf Savoir Faire

Want to add instant style to your plane jane outfit? Try throwing on a loosely tied scarf. Celebs like Jessica Alba have been seen wearing this trend a lot. As seen in Jessica's look above, her casual jeans and tank wouldn't have been an "outfit" if it wasnt for her Missoni scarf that pulled the entire look together. Get your scarf savior faire at stores like Madewell, Bloomies or Topshop.

The Board Room

Who says you have to wear a suit to go to a board meeting? Ivan clearly knows this as he models in my board room a few of Quiksilver's hottest board shorts. I love the 80's Echo Beach vibe. The shorter leg and trimmer waist is so sexy. For more radical designs surf Quiksilver

Style Wizard

So I must admit I am more than a little obsessed with Harry Potter!! I just saw the new movie and it was spectacular!!! Not only did I love seeing Ron get his mack-on and Draco being a wuss-puss, but I also was amazed by the costuming! It was much better than years past. Malfoy's suiting was faboshh, the party scenes dresses were perfect and even the death eaters were looking hot! Even if your not an HP fan, go see the movie, its full of drama, suspense, mystery, romance and style!

Laugh out Loud Moment

Although I almost had a heart attack when I saw this, and died when the women stepped out of the subway car and hit her toddlers head on the top of the door frame and i almost had to catch him!!! But I was literally "LOL"ing when the tiny tot grabbed hold of the pole to keep from falling off his not-so-with-it mother's shoulders. Please ladies don't try this with your kids!

Matte About You

Matte is the new black! I was lucky enough to get the last bottle of this magic formula at my local beauty supply store this weekend, and i am in LOOOVEEE!!! Matte is the new way to wear nail color, but not many polishes come in a no-shine matte finish. But our saviors at Essie have come up with a solution, Matte finishing coat! Yes it actually works, just apply this top coat to any of your favorite nail colors and tah-dah, a totally high-fashion matte finish!! Buy yours at the Essie boutique for only $10, its well worth the investment!

At The Moment

I was invited back to my alma matter, Syracuse University, home of the orange! This time not to study but to speak. The powers that be asked me to provide opening remarks for the university's fashion show and speak on a interdisciplinary design panel with 4 other design professionals. The students were so talented, eager to learn and were very inquisitive about my unique design path. While I was on campus, I learned "orange is the new black."

Carlos for Target

The latest addition to the Target family of uber high end lines made affordable at Target. Meet Carlos and his beautiful daughter, who is showing off one of the original Carlos bags. Mary and I were oohgling over how much we loved her bag and it was the perfect shape, colour, size with the right amount of adornment.

Fresh Green

I really like these chairs and discovered them at William Sonoma Home in the clearance section. There is something about furniture that no one else wants that I find so appealing.

S'Adore Cali

I've got so much love for this state minus it's hate for Prop 8.
I took a mini work vaca to California and stayed in the totally soothing and sunny Santa Monica! It was like being home with the surfer's and beach bum's. Did a weekend trip to the O.C. where I surfed trail 5 in San Clemente. What do you think, should I make the big move from East to West Coast?

-Get in the west coast mood-

Hot-Rod Alert!!!

I spotted this hottie, getting on her hot-rod after a long day of work in Paris! Paraisin women might not have been as chic as i would have imagained but they sure do look good while driving!

I want a ride of my own and pair of jimmy-choo's to wear while zooming down the streets, who's buying?

I'd Like to Order...

the Dick Chicken. Graffiti artists are getting so profound. Take a tour of Nolita and the Lower East Side for more.

Dress Down

Meet two of my male role models, Jonathan Adler and Simon Doonan. The former is the famous potter (not pot dealer) and the latter is the creative director at Barneys New York . S'adore how they rock up to the CFDA fashion awards in sneakers. So le coq sportif, how Simon is sporting Rod Laver's, my personal faves when it comes to tennis shoes. If you really want to get high, check out either the windows at Barney's on Madison Avenue or Jonathan's latest location in Brooklyn which is opening soon.

Everyday Icon

Jason Rovnak
VP- Licensing Design at Tommy Hilfiger USA
"Where prep meets the street"

Likes... I definitely like smart, personalized dressing & decorating. I like to create overall looks either on the body or in the home with items from varied vendors & locations. Successfully matching high end with inexpensive foundations - integrating vintage finds & giving them that special place on the body or in the home to highlight that item. I like to go through my parent's old things, especially their attics. You are bound to find something great that can be incorporated for the '09. It's free vintage!

Style Secrets... I like to Polaroid my favorite looks & hang them behind my closet door / mirror for mornings when I don't feel like getting dressed or when running late. When you buy new pieces for the season, pace yourself, stash a few away to pull out a few months later - that way you'll have a steady 'flow' of new 'merch'andise.

Summer must-haves... A sensational selection of sunglasses - when the temp rises & you're reduced to tanks & shorts, the sunglass says it all.

Can often be found wearing... DSquared, Michael Bastian, Rugby, Hickey, Tommy Hilfiger, American Apparel, RRLand Hunter rainboots.

Cheap thrills... I love NYC & my Urban Family! First is the beautiful Hudson River Park it runs seamless from Battery Park to the G.W. Bridge. I like to experience the sunset on the river by bike at the end of a long day. Second, my friends and I have rediscovered 'Family Game Night.' Not your average board games, but Charades & creating our own categories for $10,000 Pyramid to name a few... games that are interactive with both mind & body we find best.
