Shopping in Soho on a brisk December day I discovered a new store on Prince St, Monika Chiang. The design of the store it self was enticing, but then I took notice of the product and nearly lost my breath! I felt as though I was in an art gallery, the cashmere, leather, suede and ohh the fur. It's at if each piece is a work of art. The handbag and to die for over the knee are only the tip of this fashion iceberg. You must must take a stroll down and see it for your self. This is actually only the concept store, if you can believe. They will be moving to there permanent location rather soon, which I cannot wait to see!!

Dishes are Done

Is it just me or does everyone use this ubiquitous word... DONE? I don't care for it. It seems to be used by people in the financial community, i.e. iBanker types to sound cool. Throw it back to a fave film, Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead, staring my beloved, Christina Applegate, the brother skeet shoots the dishes out the window and proclaims, "The dishes are done, man!"

"Dishes are Done!" is a more powerful way to say, "DONE, " or even worse, "DONE and DONE." It's so skater chic and silly! Gotta go tend to the designer dishes so they can be DONE, man.

Showing Up

There is a saying in life and yoga that you just have to show up. Yesterday, I went to Hot Yoga after months of not going. I did not expect miracles. I did not expect anything. The miracle that happened was that I went and did my practice on the 2nd day of the year with tons of other gorgis!

You can have dinner, a few cocktails, a dance party and buy vintage jewelry all in the same night. Our Fave See for October is Casapueblo in Uruguay. Artist Carlos Páez Vilaró built Casapueblo, a sculpture in which it was possible to live, paint, and host the friends he made in life and his travels. This breathtaking structure is now a museum, workshop and a hotel, which is open year round for people to come from all over to appreciate Carlos Páez Vilaró's art and be inspired.

Our Fave Tune for September, Ocean Grove wants you in love!! Not only are these boys unbelievably talented but some of them are from New Jersey, which is where I grew up. I actually went to middle school with Jack and think it is amazing that he is living his dream at such a young age. When I heard their song "I Want You In Love" I, well fell in love! The song it self makes you smile,but the video will just leave you as giddy as a school girl.

We are going to be hearing a lot more from these adorable boys so keep an eye out!!

Did you know that great summer fun can happen in your own back yard? Well it can! On any hot day, have a picnic. This vintage book, "It's A Picnic," given to me by Eileen gives great ideas on making the best of outdoor dining. Make lemonade and some sandwiches, while enjoying the peace of the open sky. We had a Father's Day Picnic in Buck's County, Penn., complete with Champagne, spicy shrimp and other bits and bobs spilling out of the back of the Tahoe, tale gate style. Daphne, my sis, is doing a reading from the book and H, her hunk of a husband is sporting some mad madras shorts!
