An American Family

I was lucky this weekend to catch The Beach Boys movie on the boob tube while coach surfing.  I have been wanting to see this flick about the lives of my July fave tune holders but couldn't get my hands on it so was ecstatic to see that it was on TV.  And I wasn't disappointed getting a look into the world of the originally named Pendletones and especially the "Musical Genies" mind of Brian Wilson and their struggles that you would have never have noticed with the hits Surfer Girl, Help me Rhonda and California Girls.

Too Hot to Flop!

Stopped by the VPR Holiday/Resort Preview today and got totally hooked up with this orange you glad pair of flops!  These Yosi Samra beauties are currently on sale at Refinery 29's Shop, and will look totally stellar with a hot pink mini or mani!

Get Polished!

Hey there fashionistas! It's Maje here at your service! Im Sarah's intern for the summer and I would love to share my fun adventure at Polished Beauty Bar located on 250 West 78th St. Sarah sent me on a mission to see how this place was and I am happy to say it was a fab experience! Polished is a must if you ever want to give yourself a little treat! What I loved the most is how clean it was, the salon is certified to an air purification system which gives you fresh clean air once you walk in. The staff and the manager were very friendly even though they were packed w/ customers. It was well lit with the tiny cute chandeliers in the ceiling, the nailpolishes were organized very well so customers can easily pick out their color, free wi-fi was available and the flat screen tv was playing a classic black and white film! What salon does that? You even get a complimetary back massage while your nails are drying! I left the salon feeling refreshed, I was def a happy camper! http://www.polishedbb.com/

Super Swimwear!

Summertime means swimwear shopping! Every summer sees a new 'must have' swimwear brand, here's this seasons two. Meet stylist turned swimwear designer Lisa Marie Fernandez and new super brand L*Space. The latter has made cowgirl tassels a must have poolside, whilst the prior makes sporty swimwear less of a practicality and more of a style statement. Invest in either of these brands this summer and you will be the hottest chica by the pool!

Girls Day Out

The whole Sarah Shirley team loves to have fun, so every now and again we like to take some time away from the office to go somewhere new, learn something new, have fun and just get inspired! Here we are on Long Beach this week after taking a yoga class on a stand up paddle board.

Mode a la France!

It's Bastille Day today, France's version of July 4th. America and the land of the chic have long been friends, the statue of liberty was a gift to us from them, so if the French are celebrating, so are we! Being French is all about being stylish, so in celebration of Bastille day, here's a few of my all time favourite French fashion icons, new and old. First up is Charlotte Casiraghi, Princess of Monaco and grand-daughter of Grace Kelley, then the one and only Coco Chanel, no explanation needed! I had to include super ex-editor of Vogue Paris, Carine Roitfeld and finally the first french fashion icon, the over extravagant Marie Antoinette.

Paul Wilmot Press Preview

So fall press previews usually get me totally psyched for big furry jackets... Paul Wilmot's press preview did just this, but also helped me to develop an unhealthy obsession with Charlotte Olympia shoes! The kitty pumps were my fave! Quirky shoes are fab whether its Fall, Winter, Spring or Summer! Scarves are a must for Fall but don't just have to be practical; these silk Givenchy ones will look fabulous when the sun no longer wants to play.

Crunch & Munch

I picked up some goodies from a recent Target event and they are the best office snacks! These Chile Adobo chips have been helping me power through my busy days! So tell me, whats your favorite office pick me up?

Stacked.

I skipped my workout today but I got stacked in this little jewelry concession on Broadway called Spoil Me Fashion. A little DIY mixology and my wrist was stacked in some fresh new trinkets.

In Full Bloom

As every fashion maven already knows, this week reigns Paris Couture! The show everyone has been anticipating was Raf Simons' first show as John Galliano's replacement at Christian Dior. His Avante Garde design background fused with Dior's own brand history created a collection so mid-century Dior Couture yet so modern! The best part of the show however had to be the ceiling to floor panels of flowers - one of Christian Dior's hugest obsessions. Reminds us to stop and smell the roses.
