It's Columbus Day, honouring all the Italians have given to us especially Mary Shrines. I am paying tribute to my love of them with this special photo essay. Liana sent me this Mary Stone Shrine all the way from Boston. Apparently it's next to a Jewish Temple.
Here is my all time favorite Mary Shrine. It's an entire shrine dedicated to Mary around a pool. The woman who made this lives in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn and is just wonderful. Her entire pool and house is covered in faux flowers. She has quite and artistic hand and came from Italy when she was 6 years old. She was nice enough to let us use her house for the back drop of a photo shoot below.
