Vintage Shops and Flea Markets - "trash to treasure"

I’ve been having a very “what’s old is new again” mindset lately, especially with the season turning so suddenly, and fall being, well, HERE. Accessorizing has always been something I love, and I feel using jewelry, pins, gloves, headbands, bags, and other smaller knick-knacks to enhance a look is the perfect way to morph any wardrobe from one season to another. Vintage stores and flea markets are such great places to pick up amazing accessories and add-ons, and at next-to-nothing costs. Most in Manhattan are held only on the weekends, and showcase wide open spaces, full of vendors selling everything you can imagine; from paintings, to housewares, to fur stools, belts, bags, jewelry, clothing and shoes. I have put together a small list of my personal favorite vintage shops and markets so you too can check them out, and pick up some amazing pieces to add into your newly fall wardrobe.

Hells Kitchen Flea Market

The Garage (right under the “park” sign)

I was at the garage yesterday and bought a pair of elbow-high leather gloves, never worn, for $38.00!!! Can you believe that! You MUST go and check them out…and make sure to remember, cash here is best so you can bargain and bring prices down. (Most vendors don’t accept credit)
SEE YOU SHOPPING!
